Zend refuses Chinese

Stephen asked me to finish a small project last night, just after I made up my mind to do some small but smart projects yesterday afternoon. So I promised at once.
I said I want to develop in Linux for concentration. So back to my house, I began to use Linux and installed Zend Stdio here. It was really troublesome that Zend for Linux hardly supported Chinese characters. All characters turned to funny squares in Zend. Neither can I type Chinese in Zend! I’d no idea but to use English instead. Then, when opening file in Zend, it calls some linux API to display a dialog. However, the dialog could not be shown normally as some words were Chinese there. OH, too bad.
I can only set English as the default language of my ubuntu. As a result, I can not input Chinese in Linux any longer.:(
